What Glenda and Mike Believe...
The Bible
- The Scriptures, Both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God,
Without error, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of people
and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life.
The Godhead - In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely
perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ - That Jesus is true God and true man, having been
conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross a
sacrifice for our sins. Further, He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into
heaven where he acts now as our High Priest and advocate. Soon Jesus will return
from heaven to claim His true Church.
Salvation - That the shed blood of Jesus Christ and his
resurrection provide the only way to be saved or justified. When we believe and
receive Jesus Christ we are born again and become children of God. At the moment
of salvation, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in the Christian's life. The
Holy Spirit then begins to guide, empower, and inspire holy and joyful living.
We are evangelical in nature. We believe in the historic
Biblical Christian faith. We seek to be true to the scriptures in our faith and
practice. We strive to boldly proclaim the good news of salvation through Jesus
Christ.
We are cooperative in nature. We seek to cooperate with all
Bible believing churches, denominations, or Christian organizations in carrying
out the Great Commission of our Lord. We recognize the work of all believers for
Christ. We endeavor to witness in a loving manner. We believe every Christian is a witness
for Jesus Christ, and we seek to be the best example possible in our personal
walks.
Our motto is: "Raising the Standard for the Next Generation".
Our theme Scripture reference is Deuteronomy 6:6-8
"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your
hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and
when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
